Launched in 2014, the PERMICAN (Prophets Emmanuel and Ruth Makandiwa Invitational Concert Awards Night) is an award ceremony that was created in honor of Zimbabwean Gospel Musicians only who evangelize through music. The first edition of the PERMICAN Awards held in 2014 broke history by being the first-ever comprehensive Gospel Music Awards to bring recognition to contributors of the Gospel Music Industry. The second edition in 2015 left an unquestionable footprint and the third Edition which was held in 2016 propelled the prestigious awards to greater heights that changed the scope of Gospel Music in the region.
