Imagine, waking up in the early hours of the morning to a choking smoke that has filled your house and then moments later, you see flames encroaching from the roof of your home.
How would you, dear reader, react to such a situation?
Such was the unfortunate incident that was encountered by Grace Karikoga, a mother of four, who lived at Block 5 C51 Matapi Flats, on the 24th of July 2018 as her home was part of the apartments that were destroyed in the Mbare Fire Disaster.
“It was around 2 am in the morning when I woke up and saw the flames coming in from the roof of my apartment,” Grace narrated her sad story, “And as soon as I saw the fire, I quickly grabbed my infant baby and my other three children; one boy and two girls.”
Still in shock, Grace’s main focus at that time was to get her children to safety, away from the flames. Grace and her kids rushed out of their apartment and they joined the other people that were outside who had managed to escape also.
“I believe it is by the grace of God that I managed to escape the fire with my children, unharmed”
Though Grace and her children had managed to escape the fire, they watched helplessly as their homes and everything that was inside, burn down to ashes.
“The fire consumed everything that we had; I did not manage to bring out a single thing from my apartment.”
After this incident, Grace and her four children had their home destroyed by the fire. All of their belongings; clothes and furniture, were gutted by the fire. But when it seemed like all hope had been lost, Grace found a new beam of hope from Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa through Agape Family Care.
Out of pure love and compassion for those in need, Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa offered help to Grace and her family and some other victims of the inferno, in their time of need.
Grace and her four children received clothes, blankets and food aid from Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa through the Agape Family Care.
“I would like to thank Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa for all that she has given me; the blankets, the clothes and the food. I am deeply grateful and it is my prayer that God continues to bless both her and Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa”
Owing to the abounding love of God that Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa has devoted herself to share with the rest of the world, Grace and her four children found comfort and a helping hand in her time of need.
