Through the “Together in the Same World Campaign”, Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa aims to bring about increased awareness of albinism across nations.

Many people are still not aware of the condition while in other areas people with albinism continue to be on the receiving end of negativity from communities. The 2021 theme for International Albinism Day – “Strength Beyond All Odds”, not only highlights achievements of people with albinism but it is also about celebrating their strength and resilience despite the challenges they face.

In order to break the cycle of hopelessness and misery for people with Albinism a distribution of social support food packs and Hygiene and Sun Protection kits was made to those with albinism.

The packages contained Mealie Meal, Sugar Beans, Rice, Sugar, Flour and Cooking Oil as well as Sunscreen Lotions and a bar of laundry soap.

The much needed yet expensive sunscreen lotions which are part of the donation will protect their sensitive skin from ultraviolet rays of the sun. Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa seeks to enable those with albinism to rise-up and have the capacity to improve their situations.
