Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa opened the 2024 Passover Conference on Friday night, delivering a powerful message at the UFIC Basilica focused on the defeat of death, sin, and condemnation through the finished work of Christ. The event, which drew thousands in-person and online, marked the official start of the three-day Easter Conference.

Anchored in 1 Corinthians 15:55 and Hebrews 2:15, Prophet Makandiwa’s message zeroed in on the divine necessity of Christ’s death and the dismantling of spiritual condemnation. “He had to become man to die on our behalf,” he declared. “Had He remained God, there would have been no proper representation of man on the cross.”

He explained that death drew its power from sin, and sin from the law. To disarm death, Christ had to first disarm the law. “He nailed the handwriting of ordinances to the cross,” the man of God preached, “and disarmed the principalities that had once accused us.” With this act, Jesus eliminated the legal ground upon which condemnation stood.

In a fiery and liberating teaching moment, Prophet Makandiwa declared: “You are no longer condemned. Your accuser has been disarmed. The mark you once missed has been removed. How can you be killed for missing a target that no longer exists?”

The night concluded with a congregation-wide moment of reclamation and prayer. “You’re not confessing sin, you’re declaring position. I’m a child of God. I’m holy. I’m the righteousness of God,” the faithful declared with uplifted hands. Prophet Makandiwa affirmed them boldly: “The devil has no right in your home. You are no longer disqualified. Your portion is restored.”

Among the standout moments of the evening was a moving worship segment led by Larry Gunda, who ushered in a deep presence of God through a soul-stirring rendition of “Mighty Glorious King. His delivery echoed through the Basilica, preparing hearts for the prophetic message to come. The UFIC Choir, dressed in elegant purple outfits, added visual splendour to the spiritual ambiance, creating a seamless blend of worship and reverence.

The impact of the service extended far beyond the physical venue. Livestream viewers flooded the comment sections with gratitude and awe. “God has raised you as an institute to empower us,” wrote @timiapollos6726. From Papua New Guinea, @NelsonPatrick-g1j2v testified, “I reclaimed my position in Christ.” Meanwhile, @iamcompleteinchrist7116 reflected, “Let mercy and grace overtake us more — we are forgiven not because we asked for forgiveness.”
